Mortimer Neighbourhood Development Plan
Questionnaire April – May 2015
After the 4 week exhibition and discussion sessions (February/March 2015) a questionnaire was delivered to every home and business in the parish. The feedback from the exhibition informed the final version of the questionnaire.
The questionnaire was accompanied by a covering letter emphasising the importance of the questionnaire, how to complete it and the closing date. The consultation was advertised on the NDP and parish council websites, and was a topic of the local Facebook facility. Adverts were placed on the parish council and village noticeboards, in the local shop window and on the railings of the fairground which is at the heart of the village. Manning a table outside the parish polling station the opportunity presented by the national polling day for parliamentary and local council seats was used to advertise and remind parishioners of the consultation.
Everyone aged 16 and over was entitled to complete to the questionnaire. Residents of the parish and those who worked in the parish were eligible. The questionnaire could be completed either online or in paper form. Throughout the time the questionnaire was open a telephone help line was provided. If a household wanted more than one paper questionnaire these could be requested via the help line or email and the additional paper copies were delivered to the requestor’s home.
1285 valid questionnaires were completed, representing approximately 40% of the electoral role. The free format question 6, 8 and 26 were analysed in more depth. The analysis of the top themes in each can be accessed from the menu. The complete of comments received in response to all the free format questions (6, 8, 19, 25 and 26) can also be accessed from the menu.
